Have you ever wanted to get started in the exciting world of model aviation but didn’t know where to start or where to learn to build/fly radio controlled (RC) airplanes? How about going to a summer day camp where you will learn the basics of building and flying RC planes. DC/RC Model Airplane club is pleased to offer this opportunity to interested young future pilots.

The purpose of the radio control airplane flying camp is to provide a week-long day camp to the local community with the intent of teaching young people basic aspects of model aviation, provide flight instruction in a safe manner, and teach model building skills.

DC/RC model airplane club is an Academy of Model Aeronautics (AMA) chartered club that is a respected pioneer in field of model aviation. The club has experienced flight instructors, craftsmen builders and a beautiful, safe flying field (Walt Good field) at the Montgomery County Model Airpark

The camp is intended for ages 12 and older only:

What you will learn: The camp is designed to expose the student to the construction techniques required to build an Almost Ready To Fly (ARF) trainer aircraft, the methods required for safe model plane operation, and hands-on flight instruction on provided trainer aircraft by club flight instructors.

What is provided: Flight certified trainer aircraft for flight instruction, ARF plane kits for construction, fuel, flight line equipment, building supplies and refreshments

When the Camp is:          July 28th to August 1st  8:00 am- 12:00 am.

Where the airfield is located:  I-270 North from Washington, take exit 10, Clopper Road, then go approx 6 miles, make a left on Schaeffer Road, which is the first left after MD route 118. The Walt Good R/C Field entrance is about 3.5 miles on the left (just after the one lane bridge).

What is the cost:   $40.00 payable to Edward Leibolt
